Traded in a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage DS for the Hyundai Elantra Touring. Wonderful drive, nothing bad to write about. Its the Euro Wagon from Hyundai. Price was much lower than a similarly equipped Mazda3.

After trying out the Matrix, Dodge Caliber, and Mazda 3, the Touring came out on top. The list of standard features is impressive for a vehicle in this price range. Features like 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS, Electronic Stability Control, power windows, key less entry, heated rear view mirrors, to name a few. It even comes with Nitrogen filled tires and nice mags. The ride is smooth and the feel is solid and quiet, again exceeding what one would expect in the price range. The interior is nicely laid out, the fit and finish is excellent, and you gotta love the blue lighting. The interior room for the size car is impressive. A real value for the dollar. Hyundai hit a home run with this car

Weve owned it for over a month and had one long road trip. Weve loaded it with 3 passengers and 18 2"x10" four foot long boards along with a roll of fencing. We love the capacity and functionality of it. It was comfortable on the trip. Gas mileage was decent, but a 5 speed auto would be great. Weve been getting ~26mpg and thats mostly around town including a carpool line. Considering it is a compact car, its a great car for a small family. We got the premium package and the ride isnt very bumpy. We also havent found the steering to be vague as mentioned in some reviews.

  • Really impressed after 82,000 miles - 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring

Bought it new in 2009. Of all the imports I bought before, (Mazda and Honda) this car had by far the most comfortable driving seat. Well padded and a lumbar support, with every which way adjustment, which was important for my frequent long drives. Very reliable, amazing storage room which Ive used time and again. Minor glitch in that speakers had to be replaced twice, under warranty and replaced brake pedal once for squeaking. Love the steering feel especially in tight city driving. More then enough power on highway etc, even though its buzzy. So far less problems than Ive ever had with previous other cars. Wouldnt trade it in for anything else though Ive been asked to, many times.

  • Great small wagon- lots of room - 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring

This is a great small car for city driving but it has a lot of cargo space. I did a ton of research and looked at similar cars, this was the least expensive but had similar features. The car drives nice and has handled well in the snow. I am short and did not find as many blind spots as with other cars, yet there is a lot of headroom. It is slightly higher than standard cars, giving me a good view of the road It is not the the most exciting car but it drives well and is functional- the cost and reliability of Hyundai won me over. I have had no problems so far

Bought the 5 Speed Manual version with the sport package (17" Alloy Wheels, Sunroof, XM-Radio, etc.)in July 2009 and I looooove that car!!! Had to wait a week (manual is hard to get - dealer got it from a different state 240 miles away). I am from Germany so I love the european style (interior & exterior). Did a lot of research and the Touring was by far the best deal out there. Tons of standard features, overall quality is impressive, I get 26 mp (about 30% Highway driving). The handling is responsive, no complains here. The ride is a little stiff. Engine has enough power for the size of the car. Very roomy, I love the Hatchback versatility!!! Unbeatable Warranty!

This is the first "small" car Ive owned. Previous three cars were Mercury Sable wagons all of which I put over 200K on. At the top of my list of car priorities is driver comfort as I put over 37K annually on a vehicle! Im 63", 270 and the Touring is VERY comfy!

  • This is NOT a boring car! - 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring

After a couple of very happy years driving my 2007 Elantra GLS, I was fairly certain Id be just as pleased with the Elantra Touring. To tell the truth, Im more than happy ... I LOVE my red, chili pepper Touring! Its sporty-looking, vibrant and fun to drive. All that plus the roomy interior, ample cargo space, and zippy engine Id learned to love in my original Elantra.

  • Great little car! - 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring

Bought this to carry my drums to and from gigs. Has plenty of cargo space and very comfortable for long highway trips. Have the manual trans which is very tight shifting - no slop between gears - nice. Have over 5k miles now and fuel economy is over 30mpg according to the dashboard indicator. Very happy with this little gem - yay Hyundai!

  • Update on my 7/28/09 review - 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring

I absolutely LOVE this car! I have yet to find something I really dont like about it. Best mpg to date is 37 mpg on a long cruise-controlled drive to New York state and back! Someone else, here, noted an issue with the cd player: cracks and pops from a brand new cd. But I dont care, really. Who even WANTS to listen to cds what with the fabulous XM radio music selection?! Contrary to my earlier request for more horsepower, it really doesnt need it. The Touring has ample get-up-and-go for this 55 y.o. And Im still discovering neat design features that Hyundai engineering deserves great kudos for.
